his heavy boots scuffed against the gravel, kicking a few rocks along the dirt road path. occasionally, dogmeat would run after each of the small rocks, trying to decide which to bring back to josiah ( a difficult task indeed for the canine ). josiah didn’t deter him from this “mission” of his, instead finding it amusing.

a small smile creeped along his face as he came to a standstill upon arriving at his fixed up little home. he leaned against the stone wall on one shoulder, arms crossed. ❝ go get your tennis ball, bud, ❞ he encouraged his companion. dogmeat happily obliged, finding the fluorescent yellow ball hidden in a bush and bringing it back to his owner. josiah happily took the toy from dogmeat and tossed it out across from them and chuckled when the german shepherd started at a run to catch up with it.

a falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes.
i screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it's left me blind.

Dogmeat reminded Faustus of his old dog, Blueridge, a blind, scrappy beagle mix who Kofi and he adopted just after adopting Wren. He remembered Wren begging them for a puppy, and instead of a puppy, they had decided to adopt a more senior dog instead to give him a good home. Wren has fallen in love with the beagle, and the two were inseparable. Faustus still had a couple photos of his daughter with Blue, one of her reading a story book to him while he wore a pajama top, and another of them asleep on the couch together, Blue’s head gentle upon her stomach.

He approached Josiah, watching Dogmeat take on after the ball, fairly impressed by his speed and determination. ”You never told me how you found this guy,” Faus spoke, nodding his head in direction of the german shepherd.

He had never owned a dog before Howler. As a child, he was too frequently out of the house to take on the responsibility of a pet, and his mom was far too busy to accept one in the house unless Osirus could help out frequently. He didn’t know much about them, and Howler was simply a funny coincidence. However funny, Osirus was grateful for her, and she him.

”Is he friendly?” Osirus asked Josiah as he neared the area, Howler tagging behind, her tail wagging as she saw the shepherd, ears pricked. ”Think Howler here wants to join in,” He smiled faintly as the border collie approached the other dog, letting out a series of funny sounding yips. ”Ah, sorry for the volume, she’s deaf. Developed a lack of noise control since.”
