Flintlock Lodge / lingering feelings [Open]

TW: hunting animals, paranoia

It had been about two weeks since she joined this place. She was now clean of dirt and dried blood. Her cute was all healed and the girl was no longer starving. Katelyn was still getting her feel for the place, hearing the stories of a shootout. This place was safe, right? Everyone here seemed friendly enough, but she was worried about this shootout. Would the group who did this to them be back? The girl wasn't sure if she could handle something like that. She hardly knew how to shoot a gun. Most of her fighting skills came with a knife. Gun vs knife didn't sound like a good idea to her. Fingers traced over a bullet hole in the wall. Coming out of her thoughts to look around at the beautiful view.

Growing up in the city, there was no view like this. Katelyn rubbed her tired eyes as she stretched out. Giving her back a satisfying pop and crack. Tying her hair up into a bun as she stepped off the porch of the lodge. Katelyn wasn't exactly sure what to do around here but she wanted to do her part. So, she thought about looking around for some supplies. Making she could make do with a make shift fishing pole. Was the water too cold for the fish still? The girl thought about trying to find some sticks and string for some animal traps. Catching a rabbit or two would be nice. Skipping off onto the path, she gave a pebble a little kick. Watching it tumble down the path in front of her. The girl took the jacket from her waist and slipped it on. Heading into the woods that surrounded this place.

She then began to collect some of the stronger looking twigs that were scattered over the ground. Katelyn found a nice little spot to set up her trap. Tying the sticks together with some spare string, that had been used over and over. It was probably close to breaking after another two uses. Making a little cage with one side open. Katelyn used the rest of the string to hang it up with a piece of bread on the end of it. This way, whatever was attacked to the bread. Would become trapped in the wooden cage. It wouldn't hold the creature forever but the girl was counting on being lucky. Once everything was set up, the girl moved back the way she came.

The familiar feeling of something watching her began. Looking behind her, she didn't see anyone hiding in the forest. Her fingers traced the handle of the knife before she continued her way back to the lodge. Paranoia was a bitch. But it was something she was well use to. Something that was normal for someone who was on their own. For what? A year? Coming out of the forest, she felt better. Strange how the forest was so familiar but terrifying all the same. ""

Flintlock Lodge / never heard you shout before [Open; w/ Santos]

@SANTOS // sorry if this is lame lol
// also kate walks into santos's room but people are welcome to respond before they do : )

Flintlock lodge. She had never heard of this place till she came stumbling into the village around midnight. But she was lucky to run into a nice group. Considering her last group went south. But everyone she came across seemed nice. Judging, maybe a little stand off-ish, but kind all the same. Hayley gave the go ahead to let her stay and that was pretty sweet. It had been a long time since Katelyn interacted with anyone for more than a minute. Now she was with a group with a bunch of people. Which was good but a little nerve wreaking to say the least.

By the time she got from the village to the lodge to somewhere warm to hang out, she was beyond exhausted. Taking her back pack off made her release how sore her body was. When was the last time she slept for more than three hours at a time? Maybe a couple of days. Being alone only fed into her paranoia and it would be some time before she trusted these people well enough to sleep through the night. Katelyn slumped into a chair in the foyer, resting her back pack on her lap. She breathed out and closed her eyes for a minute. Knowing that she probably looked worse for wear. Dark bags under her eyes, dry blood and dirt on her face, and she probably smelled how she felt at the moment. Shit. Did they have showers here? The girl reopened her blue eyes and sat up straight. Opening her pack to drink some water before standing up once again.

This place was beautiful and she could think of a few group home siblings who would have loved this place. Her fingers traced the wood above the fire place. Thinking to herself before swinging her pack on and started down a hall way. Someone had mentioned something about rooms. Maybe she could find a room for herself or at least a place to clean off. Coming across a bathroom, the girl breathed out in relief. Locking the door before taking care of business. She felt like she had been in there for hours before coming out. Her long hair still damp but she felt better. Katelyn managed to get a band-aid on her temple as well. Happy that the blood and dirt showed nothing serious, just a small cut.

Wearing a nice black graphic tee that was a bit too big for her, with a bat man logo on it, and jeans. The girl carried her boots in one back as the other one was used to open doors. Picking into the rooms that seemed emptied to her. Katelyn knocked on a door and paused, waiting for a response. When she didn't hear one, she opened it up to see a person in there. "Oh god, sorry!" she squeaked an apology, her face quickly flushed with embarrassment. "I was just looking for a room to stay in." now she just stood there, like an idiot.

OOC Discussion / don't know how to word this | plot with katelyn
« on: May 16, 2019, 07:10:08 PM »
Hi everyone! This is my first character in the new world, as I have mostly said in the warrior cats rp since joining here. But I'm super excited to rp Katelyn and can't wait to plot with all of you! I'm still working on making a bio for my girl but here are some quick tags

She is open to any ideas but death of course and maybe a few other things;

- Friends
- Interaction threads
- Her hobbies are; Wood carving, flower pressing, making small animal traps, fishing, writing
- She can also teach people how to throw knives if they have throwing knives, since she lost hers
- Knows how to create and set small animal traps (rabbits, mice, frogs, fish), know a bit about fishing but nothing advance, has a small knowledge about natural medicine
- Enemies? Rivals? She is soft and passive but can hold a grudge
- She also really wants to learn how to care for horses and dogs
- Also wants to know how to use gun properly

Jesus Christ it was freaking cold. Her whole body was freezing as she sat up against a tree. A few layers of clothes and the thinnest blanket to every exist did their best to keep her warm. Katelyn woke up in a daze, her body desperately trying to keep her awake and warm. A shape inhale burned her lungs and the exhale left nothing but fog. She sat there for a few minutes, trying to remember how she got here. What happened last? Blinking a few times seemed to clear up her blurry vision. Holding her finger-less gloved hand in front of her to test her sight. Only to see some died blood on her finger tips. "Well, that's not good." her blue eyes scanned over her body after discarding the blanket. Finding the source of the bleeding, which was now just a scab. She must have cut her head at some point. Breathing in and out, she pushes out the memories.

Her fingers wrap around the strap of her travel bag. Beginning to dig through it like some wild raccoon. No food. No water. No badges. When did things get this bad? "Shit." Katelyn grumbled to herself. Huffing in frustration as she leans against the tree once more. Successfully hitting her head harder than she meant to against the bark. She sat there a moment longer before rolling up the blanket and shoving it into the green bag. Zipping it up, she felt for the handle of her buck knife. Which was still strapped to her side. At least she wasn't defenseless.

Standing up made her hunger and dehydration more noticeable. Swinging her pack on, the girl looked around once more to see if she was forgetting anything. That was probably something she missed most about being with a group. Someone to watch her back, remind her of things, help her. Sniffling, she rubs her running nose before continuing through the mountain side. God, she hopes she isn't getting sick. As the sun reaches the middle of the sky, Katelyn is forced to remove some layers. Shedding off her jean winter jacket, tying the sleeves together to keep it on her waist. Brushing her hair back into a pony tail, only to have her last hair tie snap. Another sigh escapes her chapped lips. Letting her hair fall down, wondering if she could use something near by to tie her hair up. Probably not. Why did she wonder so far out into the middle of no where?

The sun was beginning to set and her mouth was dry as hell. Standing still for a moment to listen around. Rushing water was a familiar sound to her and she followed it. A small stream from the melting snow called to her. Katelyn practically ran down the small hill to reach it, as if it would disappear. Dropping to her knees, she ignored the rocks digging into her through torn jeans. Using her hands to drink the icy cold water, which burned the broken skin on her lips. She forced her hands into the water to wash the dirt and blood off. Only then, she took a moment to look at her refection. Bringing a wet gloved hand to wipe at some of the dirt and blood on the side of her face. But not enough to wash it all away. She was dirty to say the least, unable to remember the last time she cleaned up. Time was nothing when you're alone for so long. Taking off her pack, she filled a tin bottle up with river water.

Her eyes adjusted to the moonlight as she continued walking along the creek. Tripping a couple of times at first but now she was a pro walking in the dark. Skillfully dodging the jagged rocks that reached up from the ground. She found herself on a road later in the night, to which she could guess it was close to midnight or something. Walking on the smooth surface was different from the water side. Leading she to trip and land flat on her back. God, she was so hungry. Her stomach painfully growls and she places her hand over it. Not to mention to was freezing once more. Sitting up, she slips her jacket back on before laying in the middle of the road once more. She had just closed her eyes when, in the distance, she heard a neigh. A neight?

Katelyn shot straight up, looking into the black distance. Horse? She stumbles to her feet, moving along the road and towards the noise. The girl brushed back her hair as she stared ahead. Village? "Oh god, please be nice." she whispers to herself. Since she had her fair share of running in with the 'bad' groups of people. She could hear small voices of conversations happening but their words- she couldn't make them out. Taking a step forward, she then heard someone behind her. Twisting around to see who or what it was.

// so she is just outside the village, feel free to have y/c be the one she heard behind her or just appear in front of her idc. she is pretty beat up but still my thicc gorl
also, i'm super excited to join the new world for the first time and please let me know if i did this joining thing wrong so i can correct myself and such : )
