Some modern au tale of Gav’s childhood sorta

He was told once how good he was with kids, which he agreed with but never explained why this was so.

It was never brought up about how he became a father at six, when a baby showed up at his dad’s house who was a half sibling to him. He never mentioned that this happened again at ages ten or thirteen, though those they weren’t babies.

Gavril learned to cook from books and watching people in town when he’d go out. He learned how to raise a kid as a kid himself. As their dad started going out more instead of bringing women home, it left his eldest to take care of three children by age thirteen with some help from a seven year old.

He cooked, cleaned, dressed them. The younger two shared a room while the seven year old slept next to him. Hand me downs were all they got for clothes. Any toys or books for the kids were whatever they had from when Gavril was that age, if they had anything. When they became school aged, he’d find a way to get them to school on time. He never told his dad anything, not that he cared too much. The kids took Gavril to parent functions, open houses, everything. One of the perks of raising them he assumed.

When Gavril would eventually move out, it was pushed by the three younger siblings who claimed they’d be okay and call if they need anything. They were Gavril’s kids, he’d gotten into fights for them, raised them, attempted to give decent life advice to them.

Not many people were the father of a thirteen, seven, and five year old by age nineteen. But he was, and he was damn proud.

some background for Gav, very poorly written cause i can't write [tw: death, mention of blood]

He had decided to make fabrication of the story long ago after making the choice to never admit why he was being taken on a boat from Romania to America. It was like a prison, which made sense seeing as he was handcuffed to a pipe because this boat wasn't meant for transporting "criminals", or well, a criminal. Him. If you called the bullshit lie told about him to be true.

It would never be considered a relationship, but it was something. It was intimate, it was nice. Gav had a relationship with a woman named Andrada, she at least acted like she loved him. He liked it because of the attention, something he craved as it was really a rarity for him to have. He'd joke the desire of some sort of attention from a romantic stand point was something he got from his father, but something like this wasn't hereditary.

Everything was fine and he probably wouldn't be on the ship, bloody with wounds that would become scars and tight handcuffs that would cause a scar of their own, but he upset her. Gav met a boy, younger than he was by two years. His name was Vali. The two had equal feelings for each other, causing Gav to ditch Andrada to spend more time with someone who, for lack of a better term, actually loved him (and he actually loved).

Well one morning he'd entire Vali's house to come face to face with his love, dying. He literally held the other Romanian in his arms until death, Gavril was covered in blood that wasn't his own. He'd manage to figure out from Vali that it was Andrada. She had gotten possessive, upset even, over the fact that Gav wasn't going to her anymore. So she framed him. It wasn't long after Vali's death that Gavril would get essentially arrested for the crime. He knew it was no use arguing it, even though he did, but was found guilty.

The leader of the group his father and he were part of was the one that put him on the ship, handcuffed to the pipes where things would go less than perfect of course. Gavril would be forced to learn more English, as he knew a bit, due to the amount of languages aboard the ship since they all knew English.

He'd become close to the captain, which would have downfalls as he basically used the captain to keep himself from some of the worse of the sail. He actually wasn't meant to go to America, but due to being uncuffed at the time, he ran off the ship. He basically snuck off and stranded himself in a foreign place. But it's not like he had anywhere else to go.

Vali was dead, Andrada was through with him and his own father was too busy. He'd come to America cut, scratched, and wearing the clothes from finding Vali and he'd continue to wear blood. Usually on his knuckles. He'd never get another serious relationship, mostly flings or just one time things. The sight of blood on others now terrified him, but the story he made as to why he was in America wasn't this. It was simply that he manage to get on a ship and arrive here.

And that's how he'd tell it.
