ATHENA.

Athena

Cis female, she/her

Two years

Unknown

FF; ShadowClan

overview.
Based off of a blaziken from Pokémon and Hoot’s obsession with Pokémon characters at the time, Athena was created. A lot of her personality stems from Hoot’s teenage angst and real-life struggles at the time, but supposedly she was popular so hey, who’s to judge? Maybe she was popular for the wrong reason though, who knows. Hoot kinda sees her as a big fat mistake, so...

For the most part, Athena is the last type of person—ninja chicken?—you want to get along with, let alone even meet.

Rude, snarky, bitchy, all things negative...that’s Athena to a T. Somewhere in her soul she has some form a heart, but for the most part she refuses to share it with anyone. No trauma, no nothing; she just strongly believes that relationships would only get in her way. She’s strong, kicky, and intimidating. Somehow she got into a relationship with the cinnamon bun Caleb/Gameboy, though.

Her battle style mostly reflects the Pokémon games; she uses attacks such as "blaze kick," "flamethrower," "sky uppercut," yada yada yada. Her powers included elemental (fire), super strength and elemental pelt. Due to her elemental powers, toss a bunch of water on her and she’s fucked.

history.
Athena joined ShadowClan sometime in 2015, and for the most part lived a normal life. She met Caleb at a prom, and then got to know him more. She was asked out by Caleb/Gameboy. Eventually, the two discovered a basket litter and adopted the kids, much to Athena’s dismay.

One time in particular Athena got captured after a raid (I think by an Exiles person?), and Caleb tried to save her. He died. Oops. But eventually she escaped, and they reunited back in ShadowClan.

At some point in time she joined ColouredClan, however due to my stupid activity and lack of muse, that didn’t last.

FRESHWATER.

Freshwater

Cis male, he/him

One year

Unknown

FF; BlizzardClan

overview.
Honestly, Hoot remembers very little about him—except for the fact he was fun to roleplay. Another Pokémon character, Freshwater was the product of Hoot somewhat ending her edgy phase around 2016 but still being slightly edgy. He was originally a mudkip, then he became a swampert, skipping the marshtomp evolution because Hoot says "fuck marshtomp." Big boy.

Contrary to Athena, Freshwater happens to be the kind of person—axolotl?—that you do wanna meet. He’s friendly, cheerful, optimistic. Literally just imagine SpongeBob and you have Freshwater; he’s one of the nicest dudes on the planet.

He was never into combat, nor had he ever been in a fight, so needless to say his attack style is...well, he’s working on it. His powers were just elementals for water and earth, to match with his Pokémon origins.

history.
Hoot doesn’t remember a lot of the details, so here we go.

Freshwater was originally abandoned by his mother and father; he was considered "too weak" for his kind. He was, not gonna lie, but that’s beside the point. A member (Hoot forgot who) in BlizzardClan adopted him, and Freshwater spent the rest of his years there. He made a friend, a Dalmatian friend, and the two became best buds. Their ship was Truewater.

Somewhere and somehow, he "evolved" into swampert, but he was overwhelmed by his tremendous new amounts of strength and may or may not have crushed a few people on accident. He had that Dalmatian friend who he really liked, and eventually they became a couple in the cutest way possible. It’d be helpful if Hoot remembered how, but she doesn’t; she just knows that it was adorable.

Freshwater was captured at some point as well (Exiles again), and he lost a leg. Thanks to his axolotl genes, though, he grew it back. Hoot thinks his roleplaying days were over when he discovered his elemental powers, but she can’t remember shit right now so hey.

PUNCHY.

Punchy

Cis male, he/him

Five months

Unknown

FF; ShadowClan

overview.
An original character! What a shocker! Hoot has zero clue as to what her motivation was for him, but she does remember watching Dan and Phil when writing his first post, so...there’s that. Plant Life by Owl City was also a big part of his aesthetic, and definitely inspired bits and pieces of his ghost obsession.

As she writes this, Hoot also remembers that Punchy from Animal Crossing (aka her favorite virtual cat ever) exists, so yeah. There’s the inspiration. Punchy isn’t as original as we thought, what a shame.

Punchy is a tuxedo cat x munchkin mix, making him a very small baby boy. He had a strange obsession with ghosts (spoiler: it’s because of his past), and wore a collar with a ghost pattern on it. He was excitable and sweet, but he also had no filter. If he thinks something, he’s gonna say it. Oh, he was also very dumb. Like, extremely dumb. Then again he was also basically a toddler but—yeah. He was like Patrick Star in a way.

Combat for him is nonexistent, let’s not throw a baby into a fight please.

history.
Punchy joining ShadowClan was an accident on his part. He just happened to be wandering around, he found a hot rock, and he slept on it. Next thing ya know, there’s a bunch of giant animals surrounding him.

Hoot never got to develop his history too much (her dad’s cancer was more important than some fake cat), but she recalls him having dead parents. At some point in time he was supposed to get ghost powers or whatever to further develop that concept, but unfortunately he didn’t last long.

GIZMO.

Gizmo

Cis male, he/him

One year

Unknown

BB; Stea Bastion

overview.
Okay, this time here’s an actual, 100% original character: Gizmo. For the most part Hoot used songs by Phillip Phillips and Cavetown (more specifically This Is Home) for his muse...giving...thing. He was created in May or June of 2017, and lasted for, like, two months before dropping off the face of planet Earth.

Gizmo was super awkward and shy, shocker shocker. He stuttered every other word, and felt like jumping a cliff any time someone tried to talk to him. He had a small allergy to pollen, but became the medic anyways. Fun.

Somehow, Gizmo didn’t believe in powers or magic, even when the extended game was literally filled to the brim with that crap. Eventually he got the powers to see ghosts, and...honestly? He was kinda like an alter ego of Punchy. As for combat, though, his skills were nowhere to be seen.

history.
Gizmo was originally owned by an astrologist human, but after they died in a car crash he was yeeted to the nearest shelter. He was adopted by a nasty human, wasn’t treated very well to put it lightly, and managed to run away. He found Stea Bastion and, while he was super uncomfortable with that place, he stayed.

There was a point when he was gay for another character (Hoot can’t remember the name), but the relationship didn’t last.

At some point in time he was promoted to medic, but then real life got in the way and Hoot couldn’t deal with the high position spot anymore. Gizmo was dropped a while after he discovered his ghost powers.
