based off the game, we happy few
it's the end of the world as one may know it; the ashes one walks over just another sign of the times - is that not the way all of these stories go? no one is to blame, right? that's what everyone would want to hear, it was just one of those life altering events that were bound to happen eventually? the end of the world is kind of like the american dream - synonymous in the fact that the only true victory is america resting in its own little bubble, ruling themselves and themselves only, eager to bask in their greatness and ready to let the mere history of anyone else go down as just myths - scary stories to scare the children into behaving. in all honesty, if anyone was to be blamed it would be every other country's fault before it was one's own. the real reason why shit went south? america, to put it simply, doesn't know when to stay out of everyone else's shit. it was bad enough that tensions were at their climax - natural resources depleting, water scarcity, all of our debt, even tensions within their own country already had the rest of the world on the brink of another civil war. america reacting to some other country's crisis was the cherry on top, the jenga piece that should never have been pulled out. everyone may be to blame, but america broke the wheel. sure it wasn't a great wheel to begin with, it was starting to lose its momentum. but this? no one ever expected this. nuclear war was something they taught in school, a vague concept in text books that was unheard of outside in the real world. sure, all the major power houses had them - america, russia, china, korea to name a few - but no one had any idea it would go this far, that it would get this bad. boy were we fvcking wrong. america, home of the free. more like, america are you fvcking kidding me?
alright, alright that was pretty vague. if you haven't caught on by now, the world is nothing but a wasteland. it looks a lot better than it did three years ago when everything went down, but i doubt the fda would approve of these conditions. three years ago - 2016 - america started getting involved when north korea went after our allies - actually, not even our legitimate allies, just a couple lesser countries that we felt bad for. ah, our country - the world's martyr. long story short, we got pissed and n.k. threatened us with nuclear warfare. when this got around, other countries started taking sides and getting ready. america kept pushing, not willing to back down when it came to squaring off with our enemy. instead, we pissed n.k. off enough and they launched the first attack on one of those countries the u.s. had been trying to protect. angered that they had actually used their nukes - something that never should have happened - we fired directly onto their soil. our enemies got mad, threatened us. so, before they got us, we got them. smaller bombs were dropped on us by china (honestly, did they ever really think we were paying them back? jokes on them) and now look at them? all dead. honestly, america might act like a five year old who lost their toy - but its never been a country to underestimate; we are warriors. not that killing people is something anyone should brag about, we swear we feel bad about it - or we would if these pills didn't make us so damn happy all the time.
anyways, america got the better part of the deal - our country is still half alive while the others, well, its hard to say but we are pretty sure no one is left on earth. wwiii was bad, horrific. but, there were some refugees from the other countries - actually its their fault we have to take these pills - joy. you see they came over here seeking help and at first we would have given it to them, but circumstances prevailed and the public started freaking out - so the government had the refugee centers bombed to keep us idle. we realized how fvkced up we were, people started killing themselves over the guilt and started protesting against the government. well, the officials in charge didn't like that, had their scientists whip us up these nice joy pills. and now? now we are happy, happy, happy all the time. we are happy and oblivious to how screwed everyone still is. what a time to be alive?
